The Maximino Martinez Commons located on UC Berkeley’s campus, is a six-story, 135,000 square foot reinforced concrete and post-tensioned slab structure constructed by Vance Brown Builders that houses 416 students in a mix of residence hall and apartment configurations.

The building features a residence hall component on the north side and apartments on the west and south, with ground-level common spaces including staffed security counters, a student lounge, mail room, fitness room, laundry facilities, and academic support spaces designed by the collaborative team of Behnisch Architekten and EHDD. Vance Brown Builders managed the construction process, delivering the project on schedule for the fall semester to serve continuing sophomores and upper-division students.
